Who I am
My full name (as written in my passport) is Kie Van Ivanky Saputra.
I was born in Bandung, Indonesia on 1st March 1982. I went to Kalam Kudus Elementary School (1988-1994) in the same city I was born. I then moved to St Aloysius School (1994-2000).
In the university level, I attended Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) from 2000 -2004. My major was Mathematics. In the third year (August, 2003) of my degree (four years total) I went to Esfahan, Iran to the Mathematics Olympiad. In the fourth year, I did my honours degree and my honours research project was about numerical methods to solve transport problems applied to the gas transport problem. My supervisor was Prof. Edy Soewono. After I graduated from ITB, I was offered a job as a researcher assistant under supervision of Prof. Edy Soewono (2004-2005).
In May 2005, I got a scholarship to continue my study in Melbourne, Australia. I attended La Trobe University and did my PhD degree and my supervisor was Prof. Reinout Quispel and Dr Lennaert van Veen. My research topic was about the analysis Lotka-Volterra systems. During my PhD degree, I got an opportunity to go abroad for a conference, summer school and etc. I went to Perth (AU), Brisbane (AU), Auckland (NZ), London (UK) and Cambridge (UK).
I was in Melbourne until August 2008 and went back to Indonesia (Bandung). I was working as a postdoctoral in Institut Teknologi Bandung (ITB) under supervision of Assoc. Prof Johan M Tuwankotta.
I also work as a casual lecturer in University Parahyangan Bandung and a casual teacher to prepare students undertake the SAT and the GRE in Ivy League.
At the moment I am now a full time lecturer in University of Pelita Harapan (UPH) Tangerang.
My areas of research interest is in the theory and applications of dynamical systems.
